Every year we seem to eat a lot of luxury Easter eggs. Hema did research on it in 2017 and it showed that we eat an average of 47 luxury Easter eggs a year. Or would there be more by now? Our jars contain 12 luxury Easter eggs in three different flavors, so purchase enough jars to meet your annual need for luxury Easter eggs!

We offer our luxury Easter eggs in a mix of three different varieties, namely: dark, milk and caramel chocolate. An Easter egg should of course have a luxury filling, so you can really enjoy it for a while. Our luxury Easter eggs therefore have different fillings that will hopefully surprise you!
Luxury Easter Eggs Dark, Almond
The Luxury Easter Egg Pure is made from the dark chocolate Sao Palme 60% and filled with an Almond Gianduja. A Gianduja is a slightly firmer filling compared to a soft ganache and in this case is made of an almond paste and brought together with a small amount of milk chocolate.
Luxury Easter Egg Milk, Hazelnut
The Luxury Easter Egg Milk is made from the milk chocolate Sao Palme 36% and filled with a Hazelnut Gianduja. This is a slightly firmer filling compared to a soft ganache and in this case is made from a hazelnut paste and mixed with a little milk chocolate.
Luxury Easter Eggs Caramel, Caramel Himalayan Salt
The Luxury Easter Egg Caramel is made from the milk chocolate Caramelito 36%. It is a milk chocolate, but due to the careful roasting process of the cocoa beans, this chocolate has an intense caramel flavor. This calls for a filling with a soft ganache of caramel and Himalayan salt. The most well-known variety is caramel sea salt, but Himalayan salt is a lot purer. Hence, we use it. Secretly, this luxury Easter egg is our favorite!

Every child can undoubtedly remember it. Waking up on Easter Sunday only to look for all the luxury Easter eggs hidden in the house or garden. The Easter Bunny is generally not as much of a phenomenon for children as St. Nicholas, but still, searching for luxury Easter eggs is a moment to look forward to. Who knows, maybe the search for luxury Easter eggs will be accompanied by a real Easter Bunny!
Where does the tradition of luxury Easter eggs come from?
It is often difficult to figure out exactly how a tradition originated. One possible theory is that the tradition of luxury Easter eggs stems from Germanic times. At that time, people saw eggs as a symbol of fertility and eggs were buried in fields in the hope that this would make the fields fertile. More likely, the tradition of luxury Easter eggs stems from Catholic Lent. Between Ash Wednesday and Easter, for example, people did not eat eggs and meat. Eggs laid by chickens were painted and hidden at Easter. Much later, Parisian chocolatiers started the tradition of making Easter eggs out of chocolate at Easter. These were initially very large eggs to be presented as real showpieces. Again so many years later, we know mainly the smaller luxury Easter eggs as a tradition leading up to Easter.
