Luxury and Unique Chocolate Bars
Chocolate bars for connoisseurs
There are countless chocolate bars – from dark and milk to white, and everything in between. Often enriched with nuts or dried fruit. With our eight different luxury chocolate bars, the pure taste of chocolate takes center stage. The high quality of the cocoa beans naturally provides a delicious flavor. Perfect for true connoisseurs.
Luxury chocolate bars with unique origin
Cocoa trees only grow in the tropical zone, between 20° north and 20° south of the equator, often in native rainforests. The soil and climate in which the trees grow have a major influence on the flavor of the cocoa bean. That’s why each chocolate bar in our assortment has its own unique flavor profile.
To highlight this uniqueness, the term Grand Cru Chocolate is used. Just like with wine, this means the cocoa is of the highest quality and comes from a single plantation. Thanks to traditional production methods, the specific aromas of the cocoa bean are brought out beautifully.
By learning to taste consciously, you will discover which origin is your personal favorite – just like with wine.
Luxury chocolate bars with pure ingredients
Making chocolate is an extensive process that starts with the cocoa farmer in the country of origin. After harvest, the beans are fermented, sun-dried, and shipped to Europe. Here, the expertise of Swiss chocolate maker Felchlin comes into play. With years of experience, they transform the cocoa bean into a unique Grand Cru Chocolate.
To preserve the natural aromas, Felchlin adds only pure ingredients:
- first-press cocoa butter
- raw cane sugar
- milk from Swiss cows on small-scale farms
- vanilla from Madagascar
Luxury chocolate bars – Fair for Farmers
The cocoa for our luxury chocolate bars comes from the Dominican Republic, Costa Rica, Venezuela, Bolivia, and Ghana. The names of our bars often refer to the country or specific cocoa region, always paired with the cocoa percentage.
Felchlin buys the beans directly from farmers (direct trade) and pays them a fair price. That’s why our bars carry the Fair for Farmers label, also shown on the packaging.
What does Fair for Farmers mean?
- Long-term partnerships of at least 5 years (on average 25 years).
- Security and stability for farmers.
- A fair price: on average 10 times higher than the Fairtrade price.
Luxury chocolate bars – Environmentally Friendly
Our bars are not only fair but also environmentally friendly. This means cocoa trees are cultivated in harmony with nature:
- no cutting down surrounding trees
- investment in reforestation and new crops
- sustainable farming practices
Note: we ourselves don’t carry an organic certification (the administrative burden is too high). That’s why we can’t use the words “organic” or “biological” on the packaging. For now, we use Environmentally Friendly – with the same sustainable impact.
How to taste a luxury chocolate bar
Tasting a luxury chocolate bar is just like tasting a good wine. Take your time and follow these steps:
- Look – observe the color of the chocolate.
- Hear – break off a piece. A clear “snap” means the chocolate is well-tempered.
- Smell – gently rub the chocolate between your fingers and smell the aromas.
- Taste – let the chocolate slowly melt in your mouth. Don’t chew, just swirl and discover the flavors. Do you taste red fruit, honey, or cinnamon?
Most importantly: enjoy the moment and develop your own “chocolate language.”
