Sparkling wine Precious Burgunder Cuvée Sekt 

This sparkling wine, or "Sekt" comes from the German wine region of Palatinate and we purchased it ourselves from the Faubel winery located in Maikammer. The Palatinate wine region is the second largest wine region in Germany and, in addition to Riesling, is known for its various Burgunder grape varieties. Grauburgunder (Pinot Gris), Weissburgunder (Pinot Blanc) and Spätburgunder (Pinot Noir) are the German names for the grape varieties originally from French Burgundy. In addition to Riesling, the traditional grape varieties from French Burgundy are often used to make German Sekt. This Kostbar Burgunder Cuvée Sekt is made from Pinot Blanc and Pinot Noir grapes according to the traditional method "Méthode Traditionelle" from the Champagne region. This means that this Sekt receives a second fermentation in the bottle and undergoes a maturation of 48 months. Normally after the vinification of sparkling wine, another dosage is added and depending on the amount of sugar, the sparkling wine becomes "Brut" or "Demi-sec". No dosage is added to this Sekt, making it a Brut Nature Sekt. As far as we are concerned, this Sekt is not inferior to a Champagne from the Champagne region. This is because this Sekt is a quality wine that according to German wine legislation has the predicate "Grosse Lage", or in other words a Grand Cru sparkling wine. A true quality wine and an excellent choice for Champagne lovers looking for elegant yet characterful sparkling wine! 

Taste Profile and Drinking Temperature Precious Bungunder Cuvée Sekt 

The Korstbar Burgunder Cuvée Sekt is a stylish sparkling wine with great elegance. The sparkling wine is characterized by a rich yet complex body with a delicate brioche note and is slightly mineral with a fine mousse. The Sekt is best served at a temperature between 6-8C. Hence, it is best to place the bottle in the refrigerator two hours before serving. Now should you have unexpected visitors, but still want to serve this bottle of Sekt, do not put it in the freezer! The delicate aromas of this Sekt may then be nullified. Instead, place this sparkling wine in a mixture of cold water with ice and a handful of salt. The Sekt will quickly reach the perfect serving temperature! 

The Kostbar Burgunder Cuvée Sekt is excellent as an aperitif, but also pairs well with fish dishes. The Grand Cru Champagne Truffles are then a great ending to a dinner and go perfectly with an espresso. 

Should you wish to leave the sparkling wine for a while longer, this is also possible. This kostbar Burgunder Cuvée Sekt has a storage potential of 3 years.

On the packaging you will find the best before date (THT-Date). Until this date the quality of the product is good. To keep the quality optimal, we advise you to keep the product cool. This means that you can best keep the product cool, dark and dry at a temperature between 16 and 18 ° C. 

Storage advice for sparkling wine 

Sparkling wine has a storage potential of 7 years from the year mentioned on the label. Until that year, the quality of the sparkling wine is good. The wine is best stored lying down so that the stool does not dry out. In addition, we recommend storing the wine in a dark room, at a temperature between 10 and 14ºC. Just before serving, the wine is allowed to warm up slightly, namely between 6 and 8ºC.
